Gary Walker Wealth Management Office, Aberdeen

The brief:

We were asked to create an inviting office environment for Gary Walker’s offices in Aberdeen city centre to follow on from the boutique look that had been used in the company’s London offices. The space was to be luxurious and professional but not overly commercial.

Design influences:

Our key design influences came from the boutique style used in the London offices and the colours and tones of the company logo. This was a great starting point and allowed us to then build up the design by layering subtle textures and tones in each space.

Key design elements:

The building itself is so beautiful and the architecture lent itself well to the interior design work we did. The alcoves in the reception area were perfect for adding the bespoke smoked mirror and really opened up the space.

We added the geometric upholstered chairs and custom-made window seat to bring personality and pattern into the space that would tie in with the brand and company logo.

In the boardroom we decided to use a mix of textures in the wallpaper, curtains and blinds to really compliment the amazing details on the oversized table.

We wanted the interiors of the space to complement the striking architecture. The bay window instantly catches your eye from the road, so we added two large ceiling lights which draw you in and make you want to see more.

The petrol blue tone in the reception area really stands out from the rest of the rooms. The contrast between the wallpaper, the navy velvet sofa and the walnut finish on the reception counter creates a strong and impactful look that still feels professional.

End result:

The end result of the project is an impressive workplace that invites both clients and work colleagues alike. As soon as you walk through the front door, the building has such a welcoming atmosphere that still feels professional.

Although it’s a commercial space, the variety of lavish textures and rich colour palette incorporated in the interiors would also sit well in a luxury hotel environment while tying in with the brand and logo.
